Students from Oneworld Hanxin College visited Valley of Hope

Approximately 100 students from the Media Studies and Broadcasting at Oneworld Hanxin College, led by lecturer Oung Kang Wei, visited Valley of Hope in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, every Sunday in June for guided community tours and field visits. They gained a deeper understanding of Valley of Hope's development history, community characteristics, and how residents support each other and maintain community life.

The guided tours were arranged by the Care & Share Society. Volunteers led the students and lecturers to visit community facilities such as the community hall, the Valley of Hope Art Museum, the woodworking workshop, and the recreation hut. They explained Valley of Hope's development history, background, and community culture, and introduced how the society continues Valley of Hope's humanistic value through preserving historical memories of leprosy, promoting historical site tours, and community service programs.

In addition, the students interacted with survivors of Valley of Hope , listening to their life experiences and community stories, and visited the community environment and public facilities to further understand how residents support and care for each other and maintain community life.

This outdoor learning experience not only gave students the opportunity to step out of the classroom and experience a real community firsthand, but also deepened their understanding of community history, community operations, and social care, laying the foundation for subsequent community observation, community service, and personal learning reflection.
