Sin Chew Daily Feature Report | Hanxin Film Education Enters the Film Set

Thank you to Sin Chew Daily (30 June 2026, Sin Chew Plus / Education) for the feature coverage, which highlights another dimension of media and film education at our college—allowing students to learn in real film production environments and grow through hands-on practice.

Oneworld Hanxin College and Hanxin Pictures recently participated in the production project of the film “Mad Mad World”, collaborating with a professional Hong Kong film crew. This initiative allows students to enter a commercial film set directly and take part in real production workflows, including directing, cinematography, and on-set execution. The project integrates cross-regional collaboration with industry-standard practices and represents a relatively rare form of “industry-embedded teaching” in education.

Renowned Hong Kong director Clifton Ko personally led students in the production process of “Mad Mad World”. From script development and preparation to filming and on-set execution, students participated as part of the film crew, gaining firsthand experience of how the film industry operates.

What is taught in the classroom is theory; what is learned on set is judgment, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. These competencies cannot be fully acquired from textbooks alone, yet they are essential professional skills in the film and television industry.

Another feature article documents the growth of students involved in the project. From screenwriting, continuity, and assistant directing to cinematography and art departments, students transformed classroom knowledge into practical experience under professional guidance, further strengthening their commitment to pursuing careers in the film industry.
