First Dubbing Competition "Between Voice and Shadow"
The inaugural Dubbing Competition, "Between Voice and Shadow," organized by the Student Union of Oneworld Hanxin College, was successfully held in the college's hall. The competition attracted 29 students, and after preliminary rounds, 8 finalists advanced. It provided a platform for students passionate about dubbing and voice acting to showcase their talent and creativity, while further promoting dubbing culture and the charm of film and television post-production.The competition was primarily promoted through Instagram, receiving a positive online response. On the day of the event, over 120 people attended, reflecting students' interest and support for dubbing art and related activities, further expanding the competition's influence.
To ensure the professionalism and fairness of the competition, Mr Ng Eng Wei and Ms Tan Shu Fen were invited to serve as professional judges. The two judges scored the participants based on their pronunciation, emotional investment, voice control, and character portrayal, providing professional feedback and guidance throughout the competition, offering valuable opinions and suggestions to the participants.
The competition featured a rich variety of entries, encompassing game voice acting, animation voice acting, film clips, advertising narration, and creative challenges. Participants interpreted different characters through their voices, showcasing not only excellent voice control but also their personal creativity and emotional expression, providing the audience with a diverse auditory experience.
After fierce competition and rigorous judging by the panel, the results of this year's "Between Voice and Shadow" competition are officially announced.
The successful holding of the inaugural Hanxin Dubbing Competition "Between Voice and Shadow" was inseparable from the support of the school, the professional guidance of the judges, the dedication of the organizing team, and the enthusiastic participation of all participants and the audience. The competition not only provided students with a platform to showcase their vocal expressiveness and creativity but also allowed them to further understand the fields of dubbing, film and television production, and post-production through the competition and event organization.
